Ogun State comes Alive for #TechSummitOgun2018

Abeokuta, the capital city of Ogun State is set to come to life tomorrow with the  Tech Summit Ogun scheduled for the 18th of January. Hosted by Vervetree Global, the event is Titled “Disruptive Innovation; Where are We?” 

The summit promises to bring together the largest stakeholders in the Nigerian tech start-up and innovation ecosystem. These stake holders will actively engage in discussions, explore and proffer solutions needed to drive and grow early stage tech ecosystem within Ogun State.

Home to twenty one tertiary institutions (21) (14 Universities, 5 Polytechnics and 2 Colleges of Education), Ogun State boasts of the highest concentration of tertiary institutions in Nigeria. In addition, it is resplendent with a vast amount of talent and human capital which may either become entrepreneurs or potentially embark on creating their own startups with the right mentorship

Major keynote speakers at the Tech Summit include Bosun Tijani; CEO of Creation Hub, Tolu Ogunlesi; Special Assistant to the Press on Digital & New Media, Seni Sulyman; Country Director, Andela and Kola Aina; CEO Ventures Platform

The summit would be divided into three sessions; Keynote addresses, Plenary sessions and Breakout sessions with topics such as innovation and start-ups, education, innovation and digital media with innovation and financing expected to be addressed

More than 1,000 Stakeholders are expected at the Summit. These include founders and partners of leading Nigerian start-ups, telecommunication and data service providers, Government Representatives, Tech Enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, investors,   academic institutions amongst others

The event is scheduled for 8am at the Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta

One Plus CEO; One Plus 6 to arrive in June with Snapdragon 845 on Board

As reported by GizChina in December 2017 , a list of smartphones which will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset on board got leaked. Among the smartphones listed in the leak was the OnePlus 6 would be launching in June. Initially taken with a pinch of salt, the CEO of OnePlus, Pete Lau has now confirmed it in a recent interview with CNET at the Bellagio outside of CES on Wednesday.
